Douro Valley: a wine tasting must-go

If wine tasting is your middle name, then this blog post is certainly for you!

Besides being a wonderful place for its landscapes, the north region of Portugal is also very much known for its wine and vineyards. It is on the slopes of this region that the Port wine, one of Portugal’s biggest flagships around the world, is produced. Since the 18th century, the Port wine has been world-famous for its quality.

And if you ever get tired of tasting wine or visit a typical vineyard, you can also count on several historical villages to be discovered, beautiful hiking trails, a rich gastronomy, and countless viewpoints that offer breathtaking panoramic views.

In 2001, UNESCO classified the Alto Douro Wine Region as a World Heritage Site. The Douro has been shaped for over 2,000 years of winemaking into a vine-covered, wine-producing destination. Definitely a worth tour to enjoy a long weekend or a short getaway!
